Early ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Reactions Prove That Not All Sequels Suck

In a generation that’s either witnessing film franchise revivals, hating on reboots or lapping up news of sequels, we’re constantly faced with rants. Rants about why we shouldn’t touch classics and to be fair many a cult films have been ruined by franchise killers. Just look what X-Men: Dark Phoenix did, burning the mutant saga to the ground. It’s no wonder that Terminator: Dark Fate was met with much skepticism ever since word of the upcoming film got around. So Dark Fate wasn’t off to a good start but early reactions to the film are singing a completely different tune. The next Terminator film opened to select audiences and their reactions are making all kinds of waves.

The first reviews of Terminator: Dark Fate have arrived on the internet and fans better prepare a pleasant surprise. The film casts Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton in their reprised roles and while it may look like a reboot set up for failure, the film proves to be a satisfying sequel if early reactions are to be believed.

From comparing the film to The Force Awakens– like impact and heaping praise on Mackenzie Davis, it’s easy to see that viewers weren’t complaining.

Dark Fate is here to right all the wrongs and give staunch supporters (even those of the earlier sequels) a reason to stick by the film franchise. The latest offering produced by James Cameron, directed by Deadpool‘s Tim Miller promises to refresh the series and give it the reboot it deserves. Dark Fate picks up after the events of Terminator 2: Judgement Day which is considered the best Terminator sequel till date. The film is also leaves behind the films that didn’t do well for the fandom, rendering Terminator 3Salvation and Genisys irrelevant to its plot.

Terminator: Dark Fate follows Dani Ramos (played by Natalia Reyes), a near-perfect human-machine hybrid Grace (played by Mackenzie Davis) who join Sarrah Connor and the Terminator in a battle against a new breed of Terminator. The full reviews of the film will arrive much later. Check out the trailer here:
