A picture of Almaz writing the paper on her hospital bed is being circulated across social media vehemently and the internet is thoroughly impressed. Considering the secondary school examinations were rescheduled owing to Ramzan, Almaz could’t write the paper before going into labour although she had hoped to.
Just ahead of the first exam, Almaz went into labour on Monday. But wait, she appeared for it soon after delivering her baby boy – thirty minutes later. From the hospital bed, Almaz wrote her English, Amharic and Maths papers. She will be discharged soon and will appear for the other papers at the scheduled centre.
“Strong women proud of her. Wish her luck,” reads one comment on the post that has been shared over 1800 times and garnered 12,000 likes.
Speaking about the examination, Derese told BBC Afaan Oromoo: “Because I was rushing to sit the exam, my labour wasn’t difficult at all.”
